This project is initiated by National Remote Sensing Centre, Department of Space, Govt. of India, in partnership with Arunachal Pradesh Space Application Center, Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh.

Most of the features that are mapped under land cover and land use are dynamic in nature and need to be updated regularly using the latest possible satellite data and ancillary information. The objective of SISDP-U project is to make updated geo-spatial information available to people at grassroots level to help them in planning, implementation and monitoring of various developmental schemes in scientifically informed ways.

Under this project large scale (1:10,000) thematic database is prepared using 2.5m spatial resolution ortho-rectified satellite data product. The deliverables of the project is the updated thematic layers on landuse/landcover, drainage, infrastructure and settlement. This updated geospatial database is being hosted on Bhuvan Panchayat Web-GIS Portal (www.bhuvan-Panchayat.nrsc.gov.in) for dissemination up to the grassroots level users.
